EMS is the acronym of (Enhanced Message Service) it refers to a service of messages for the mobile telephony, with greater functionalities of SMS service that manages only text.

The EMS service allows to attach to the message text other information as:

• ringtone
• smiles
• graphic icons

To use the EMS service the used telephones must be compatible with this technology.

EMS system today is little used, because supplanted from new and more sophisticated MMS messages system.
